Free Tool for Website Useability Feedback

All I can say about this free tool is WOW.  One of the most difficult aspects of the online business world is figuring the kinks on your website.  You should always be asking how you can improve the look, feel and useabiity of your site.

Improvement is always tied to actual improvement- things that will be of benefit to your real visitors and prospects.  The challenge here is that every industry is different and every website is different.  So, the only way to know for sure is to survey or ask your visitors.  This is difficult to do and many times you never now if the answers are really true.

In the ideal world, the best feedback would be to look over the shoulder of every visitor to your site and see what page he arrives on. . . and watch as he reads and scrolls around.  You can see where he stops, what he focuses on and where he moves his mouse over sections of your site.  Watch him while he clicks and which pges he goes to.

Yeah- well now there is a tool that gives you this exact feedback.  Imagine getting videos sent to you with the exact view of your visitor’s screen as if you were looking over his shoulder.  This tool is awesome and even better there is a FREE version for use on one website.

The company is Clicktale and their tool is easy to implement.  After I set it up, I received videos showing the first 100 users to my site the next day.  The feedback was incredible.  I have used it to get rid of areas where no one visits or cares about and highlight the topics where they spend the most time.  I saw customers clicking in an area of a chart I have where there was no link- I have now added a link.
