BlackBerry PlayBook Launches In Several International Markets

Despite their recent rise to popularity, tablet PCs are not really a new invention and have existed for more than a decade already. However, it is just recently that more and more equipment manufacturers have started paying attention to these devices. The Apple iPad is said to be by certain analysts the tablet PC that has brought the most attention to this kind of device. It is now being used by businesses as well as individual users from around the world. Indeed, such functionality can be quite useful for certain applications such as PC Remote Access software, which allows users to remotely control a computer's desktop from another location.
It is not just the buyers of tablet PCs that are happy with the launch of the BlackBerry PlayBook, but many software development firms are as well. The reason behind this is that the widespread increase in production and use of mobile devices like tablet PCs and smart phones gives software developers a whole new market that they can target. There are now many software programs available for mobile platforms, such as games, business tools, Remote Control Software, etc.
Tablet PCs are a unique type of mobile device, which makes them very useful and attractive to a diverse range of users ranging from students to business people. eBook Readers Continue to Sell Out and Out Sell

If you are an author, and you're thinking about writing a book, perhaps you should make it an eBook instead. I've already begun to notice that the major bookstores seem to have more items than just books in them these days. Barnes & Noble for instance has more and more toys, gift items, and other impulse nick-nacks in their stores. They're putting more emphasis on their coffee shops, and the selling of their "Nook eBook readers" which by the way is now available in color, at a very reasonable price.
In Fast Company there was an interesting article titled "E-Reader Ownership Doubles, Surges Ahead Of Tablet Adoption" by Austin Carr published on June 27, 2011. The article stated;
"E-reader ownership among U.S. adults has surged in the last six months, doubling from 6% to 12%. That remarkable rate of adoption surpasses even tablets, which are owned by just 8% of adults 18 and older. That's great news for Amazon and Barnes & Noble, whose e-readers, the Kindle and Nook, are flying off shelves (e-shelves, rather). But it might also come as a surprise to consumers inundated with ads for the iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab, and Motorola Xoom that e-readers are outpacing tablets."
If everyone is buying eReaders then obviously it makes sense to create eBooks for them to read. It is also interesting that Harry Potter is now going to the e-book. Some had assumed that they wouldn't do that, but it looks like their readers have chosen, and demanded that the Harry Potter books come out as eBooks. Rather than fight it, sure enough now they are available, and the latest new Harry Potter book will be available very soon as an eBook.
There was another piece posted to Read Write Web on June 27, 2011 written by Daniel Rowinski titled "E-Reader Ownership Doubled in 6-Monts, Growing Faster than Tablets," which also mentioned the recent survey hosted by Pew Research (please note: not all research by Pew can be trusted, as it is politically jaded and liberal-socialist in nature).
Okay so, imagine that, people are buying eReaders at a faster rate than iPads and tablets. In many regards if you have a Nook full-color eBook, you can download PDFs, and other files to your e-reader, and also do minor surfing of the Internet.
Therefore such combo devices appear to be what people are wishing to purchase, and they're able to buy them at substantially less money than the more sophisticated computer tablets; the iPad and all the new clones coming out. Maybe it's time you as an author started thinking about your next book, and making it an eBook rather than one made out of paper.
